Online Garden Calendar
This may seem a little off topic but hang on in there. This is a quick post to explain my Online garden Calendar that can be accessed by anyone on my website.
Why put the effort into maintaining another calendar?
What I’m hoping to achieve with the online garden calendar is a reference point for when I planted seeds, to transplanting and ultimately harvest. Another key point I’m interested in finally cracking this year is successional sowing.
As I’ve previously fallen foul by not sowing enough to fill gaps between harvest and have wasted space in the beds or greenhouse for however many weeks it takes to get the next set of plants going.
For it to work its got to be easy!
And thankfully it does seem to be easy, It works the same way as any digital calendar does by clicking on a date and creating an event. I can assign categories, tags and even images to really make this something useful that will collate with my blog posts.
If you however over an event it will bring up the content and featured image for a quick overview. If the event has a lot of content within it, you can click on it and it will open the event and show you all of the content. However, I’m going to try and keep them short and sweet and if I do need to put a lot of content in I think I may work better on the blog posts?
You can access the calendar by either using the menu at the top of the page or by clicking the link below.
Currently, I’m only going to be putting in events for when I’ve planted seeds, transplanted seedlings, put plants into final growing positions and harvest information.
I may put more content into the calendar but ill need to explore the different options as I don’t want it to become too cluttered as I truly think this could be a great tool to keep track of whats going on in the garden.
All the best
